Alan was an excellent host - very knowledgeable, super prepared, a hard worker and so easy to talk to. A perfect day all around.

Alan was awesome, lots of laughs to be had.
Fishing was a little spotty most of the day but he put in effort and fishing picked up near the end of our trip and he kept at it for an extra 2 hours getting us 3 more halibut and a nice chinook, we could not be more appreciative of his effort. Definitely recommend!

Alan knocked it out of the park.  We fished with him on 8/1. Our morning started out on a bad note as we were delayed 2 hrs due to road construction.  When we finally made it to the pier Captain Alan was ready to go.  He brought us right to the fish.  It was amazing.  We were targeting halibut and got three keepers.  He also switched us over to salmon and it was awesome.  The fight they put up is unbelievable.  He was extremely patient with all three kids and answered all there questions.  He even joked around and they were kidding back and forth.  It says a lot when the kids say next time we come back we have to use Captain Alan again.  We left we 10 fish in total.  He made the entire trip enjoyable and memorable.  We will always remember his famous quote as we had a little fun family competition going on “you only catch what you can handle”.  I would highly recommend Catain Alan without any reservation.  Thanks for the great time!!

We spent a day fishing with Al along the outer Islands of Barkley Sound as it was too snotty to go offshore. We caught 3 Chinook and one Coho, and enjoyed a great day on the water. One of our primary reasons for going with Al was to learn about gear, technique and productive locations.  We learned a lot, and Al even came to our boat later to look at our gear and offer advice. It worked - the next day we caught a Coho on our own boat, using our downrigger sand other gear for the first time!
