I am sure our captain Mike and his son (also captain Mike) who was our first mate would agree the fishing could have been hotter, but from hearing other captains from other boats on the radio, today wasn’t the best fishing for anyone.  But I loved having the family experience of father and son fishing with our family today.  Our mate was quick to untangle snags and bait hooks, and we all got to at least catch something bottom fishing when trolling wasn’t productive.  Son Capt. Mike filleted our fish at the dock.  The boat was fine (a normal sport fishing probably mid 30 foot boat with a working marine head) and it accommodated all 6 in our party. If we had only 5 people that would have been even better (that is what they recommended.). It was a nice family boat and we would fish with them again.

Weather the week of our visit was uncooperative today the least. Forecasts were terrible, but Captain Mike was extremely communicative. We mutually agreed to reschedule our trip, hoping for better weather.

Mother Nature didn’t cooperate. The ocean was still angry, but again, Mike was communicative up to the last minute, even offering to cancel the trip and refund our deposit.

We opted to fish!

Directions for arrival and parking were crystal clear. Mike and Mike Jr. were ready to go. Boat was clean, in excellent shape. Mike Jr. gave the safety brief and orientation and we headed out.

Seas were sooo rough. The boat handled them well, but as Mike communicated clearly, the fishing was not very good due to the rough weather all week.

Mike Jr told stories, answered any and all questions we had, and provided a great experience while Captain Mike expertly piloted the boat through the rough seas.

At the end of the day, we only ended up catching one small Blue fish, but I can’t recommend these guys enough. I can’t overstate the excellent open and honest communication (maybe I already did). We knew the fishing wasn’t going to be great but Mike and Mike Jr provided a fantastic experience for us. If and when I come back to Myrtle Beach, I will not hesitate to reach out to them for my next fishing adventure.

We spent three hours fishing with Captain Mike and First Mate Mike Jr. They went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. My five-year-old can’t stop talking about the sharks and sting rays he caught on our outing, and I couldn’t be more grateful to the Mikes for their help in making sure he had a great time. I’d happily recommend them to anyone looking to get out on the water for a few hours, and I look forward to booking them again.

It was a great fishing trip out in the waters. We will definitely come back in a few months for another trip.

Capt. Mike took us offshore looking for king mackeral but we got into some bonita.  After landing 5 we worked our way inshore and loaded up with a nice haul of spanish mackeral.  The boat was roomy for our group of 4 and even with multiple hook-ups, the mate was able to work us all around to land the fish.  Mike (the mate) was very knowledgable about the local fishery and answer a lot of our questions.  A great day out!
