I booked this boat on a last minute excursion with my uncle and my daughter.  I let the captain know that we weren’t specifically targeting a certain species, we would just like to catch fish. (And hopefully take home some fillets). We certainly stayed busy catching an assortment of fish and got to bring home many meals worth of meat!

Going on a fishing trip again in the gulf with Captain JT was on the top of our todo list visiting Destin again. Going on a small private locally owned boat is obviously the best way to go and JT is super knowledgeable and friendly. We had near constant catching everyone of us caught many fish. Red Snappers, Trigger fish, squirrel fish, lizard fish and several more. He looked after all of us making sure we were all doing great. Highly recommend him. Next time we’re in Destin we’re going to book with him again.

This was our first time deep sea fishing and we had an amazing day! Captain John was awesome and took us to a few different spots to make sure we caught some big fish and we weren’t disappointed! We can’t wait to come back to Destin for another trip with Dawn Patrol Charters!!!

Every aspect of our trip with John was enjoyable. He’s an all-around great guy who knows what he’s doing and who wants to please his customers. He provided near constant action and being able to eat our own fish that he cleaned for us at a nearby restaurant was the perfect ending to this adventure.

This type of small owner-operator charter is the best way to go. If you go with bigger businesses and bigger boats you’ll get less personalized attention and are likely to be disappointed.
