Good

Communication was pretty easy through Fishing Booker. We asked last minute about getting picked up, since the walk from our hotel was longer than expected. Julio offered to pick us up at waterside off the Malecón, a short 3 block walk. We opted for in-shore fishing and headed out near Isla Esperatu Santo. We bought bait offshore, but knew that would happen from other reviews ($25US/$500MX). We traveled about an hour before we started fishing. The sunrise was great and it was a beautiful morning. We had no idea what we might catch! Whatever was biting, per Julio. We ended up catching 8 skipjack tuna. The capt was really taking charge of the gear, so I had to ask for one of the poles. I’d never used a baitcaster before but quickly learned. They were filleted and we kept two and shared the rest. La Costa restaurant, which was right where the boat was parked, cooked our fish as requested and made it a great meal. The only thing we were unprepared for was tipping the captain. Our 22’ boat and gear was all handled by him. We never chartered a fishing trip before so it was new to us. There were several boats near us, and I would almost bet we caught the most fish!  If I ever return to La Paz, we would book again with La Shina.  It may also be good to let them know ahead of time if you plan to pay at the end with a card. 👍🏻

We had a great time! Got there and we were out on the water in less than 5 minutes. There were 3 of us and the boat was a good size for us. Once we got to the spot our lines were in the water fast. Had a fish on within the first few minutes. We ended up catching 4 fish but only one was the kind you want to eat (white Bonita) On the way back we did some trolling but no bites. Capitan Julio was awesome and knew how to treat us based on our skill level. We took the fish to a local restaurant the next morning and is was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a fishing trip that is all business than go here.

My buddy and I went deep sea fishing with Captain Jose today, and we had a great time.  We went out something like 20 miles or so, and fished for a variety of ground fish and other fish like Dorado.  We caught a bunch of fish, and really enjoyed our time with Jose, and we would highly recommend him based upon his 4 decades of fishing knowledge in the area, and his great personality.  I do not think that you will be disappointed if you book with him.

Arrived 20 min early, we were on our way in 5 minutes and one of the first boats to the fishing grounds. Julio definitely was one of the best charter captains I have been out with, always looking and working to get us the best catch, I don’t think he sat down once. Was great with my son who was first time fishing this environment and was patient and gave great direction. We had 6 fish in two hours! Amazing experience.
