My buddies and I were in Costa Rica for a company trip and decided to knock fishing in Costa Rica off the list, and let me tell you that Papi Chulo delivered! We caught 6 Mahi Mahi, 2 Bonettas (released), and 2 Sail Fish (released).

Beautiful day to be out on the water, and the fishing equipment was top notch! We got to see Dolphins and Whales! Dress in cool breathable clothes because the boat cabin can get steamy!
Definitely going back to snag a Marlin, Wahoo, and Tuna!

Fantastic day fishing, we brought in a good number of dolphin fish. These guys know where they’re at and how to find them. Their team is extremely helpful and courteouse. The tuna and pica de gallo were super. The capt.‘s english is good and the deck hand communicates very well also. The owner met us before heading out and he knows these waters well. For a good day of fishing, fun, and getting more than your money’s worth. Pick these guy.

It was a great excursion. There was not a lot of action because it was a shorter trip and closer in than the deep trophy waters. We caught several small tuna and four needle fish. One was trophy quality, another not far behind. It made for some good excitement. Captain Willy and First Mate Joshua were great and made it a fun experience. Joshua kept the poles baited and in the water and they took us to all the good spots. Since it was my first time out I wanted to good with a shorter day. Next time I will do either the 3:4 or full day to get the full experience and catch some billfish as well as some other deeper water varieties. I will definitely be using Papi Chulo the next time I am in Costa Rica. Pura Vida!

Willy the captain did a spectacular job putting us on fish, we had booked a 3/4 day but after having a slow morning we extended to a full day and boy was I glad we did. Joshua is a great deckhand always changing out bait trying to find something that worked. Equipment on deck was top notch. We had a double hookup on sailfish, we also caught 5 mahi mahi and 1 marlin. Best deep sea trip I have ever taken.
