- Whether it was neighborhood ponds or saltwater fishing on his uncle's boat, Captain AJ grew up with a rod and reel. It was through his teen years where he put it aside to focus on his baseball career in which he ended up playing at Flagler College. While in school, Captain AJ bought a kayak to get on the water and back into fishing. Once he became a successful kayak angler, it was only up from there. Working in the restaurant industry through his twenties made him realize that he belonged on the water. That is when he became a full-time fishing guide and has never looked back!
- Techniques
- Throwing artificial is Captain AJ's absolute favorite. For him, there is no greater feeling than setting the hook with a top water or soft plastic! Shallow water and deep holes are his main focus and he tries to find the fish schooled up deep or poling the flats in search of shoulders and tails.
