Caught a lot of barracuda, bonito, king mackerel.
It was trolling fishing.

I’ve never been on a charter that ran out of bait and didn’t have a cast net to catch bait if ran out. And when advertising states multiple baits I would expect multiple baits. Andy was a friendly enough captain.

I booked an inshore trip for five. Get text saying five is too many. I reply the ad definitely said five people on 28ft boat.
Get phone from captain Jay saying he can do offshore for $280 more because he only had a 22 ft boat available or we can drive 1-1/2hrs south to Darien and do inshore with captain Bill.  I had explained we had 3 experienced and two novices in the original booking and on phone.
A second phone conversation confirmed we would go 1-1/2 hr drive 76miles south so we could do an inshore trip on a bigger boat.
Arrived at Darien, the boat is only 23ft long( bigger than 22ft) the captain asks how many—clearly its been five. When telling him we want inshore—he says we won’t catch anything worth keeping so we should just go offshore.  Now we’re there, so we go ahead and head out stopping for him to catch bait fish while first mate did nothing.
We get to fishing location approx 5 miles out, again first mate does nothing—captain had to get all 3 rods ( all he brought for five people) ready with hooks. Caught 1 shark, then continued for another two hrs without any bites, we start heading towards reefs to bottom fish when one rod gets hit. First mate reeled in a Spanish.
We get to reefs and get 1 snapper ( out of season- so we couldn’t keep) and several black bass, all too small to keep.
Now we head towards some shrimp boats to shark fish and major rain storm hits( most exciting part of trip). Soaking wet we make it in and get our 1 fish cleaned. Tipped 1st mate 20% for bluetoothing her Playlist while she sunned on top of canopy.
I’ve done multiple other charters, fresh and saltwater—with the runaround and no fish this is worst $960 we’ve spent.
