I can not say enough great things about my trip today. Mackinzie did an incredible job all the way around. We landed a few nice little guys on grubs and got smacked hard on the natural bait about mid way through the day. I would highly recommend this trip for either a day out as a single angler looking to get to know the island and good styles of fishing for the area or even a family fishing morning that’s guaranteed to put a smile on the little ones faces. He knows what he is doing and seems to love doing it. I’ve been out fishing with all types of “guides”. He is by far one of the best.

My guide Dave was super. His wife Dawn drove us to the launch area and I loved chatting with her. I was new to salmon fishing but Dave explained the technique on our drive and I had no problem picking it up. Due to the timing of our cruise and my resulting fishing day, we were inside the 2 week period where we had to fish from the bank, not from the boat. This limited opportunities but was due to my schedule, not any fault of Dave’s. We were after Sockeye but there were very few in the river, again due to my schedule. I did manage to land a really nice silver or coho salmon that put up a fantastic fight. I would have liked to catch a few more fish but overall, I had a great experience thanks to Dave and Dawn and highly recommend this float.

Did a 2 hour shore fishing with Tyler with kids age 2.5, 3, and 7 and had a fantastic time! Adults had to periodically wrangle the littles but fishing was laid back, very productive (caught some flounder and a TON of cod), flexible to allow adults to take breaks to monitor the kiddos, and absolutely amazing views from Homer Spit. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking to get fishing without the motion sickness component or with young kids which might be more difficult to wrangle on a boat! Guide was fantastic :)
