Background: Captain José Serrão was born on Madeira Island in April, 1973. At the age of 15 he emigrated to South Africa with his family, living in Cape Town for 12 years and working for commercial fishing in the area. In the year 2000, he returned to Madeira Island and has since been working as a captain for Madeira Big Game Fishing Company aboard the vessel "Our Mary."
Techniques: The boat "Our Mary" comes fully equipped with fighting chair by GameFisher, Riggers, Rod's and Reels (by Shimano) and Lures. Tackle is provided with Shimano Tiagra fishing reels: " 130", "80" and "50". We do Skate Fishing for Stingrays and Tope with Shimano reels weighing 30 pounds. Light tackle also provided for Bottom Fishing

Blue Marin catch nd relase

I’m very happy to post that Today 16/07/18 we went out for a 7h shared trip with our Dear couple Pam Watson and husband Mr David. This time it was Mrs Pam's turn to tag and release a Blue Marlin with 350 Lbs. Congratulations!!!!

Today 13/07/18 we went out for a 7h shared trip with our guests and Mr David Watson (and wife Pam that usualy go every year with us) tagged and released a blue Marlin with 800 Lbs. Turned out Friday 13 was a good day after all! CONGRATULATIONS!

Good news! Today july 8th, we went out for 7h and got our a Blue Marlin, tagged and released with 750 Lbs by Mr Barry Johnson. More pictures will be posted

Today 21/04/18 we went out on a 4h shared trip in the morning, with 3 fisherman. The lucky one today was Mr Allan Henrivsel that caught a 75 Lbs Big eye tuna. Congratulations. See you on the sea.

Wahoo day

On today's trip November 3rd, Mr. Magnus Homer caught a 50 pound Wahoo while trolling, and Mr. Martin Beckett reeled in a 40 pound Wahoo while trolling as well. We also had a very fun time during bottom fishing, where we managed to catch many snappers and other small fish. Thank you for sharing your day with us, we'll see you on the next trip.

Boat crew equipment food all excellent. I prefer trolling for preditors as we did in the morning. But bottom fishing although produces more results in the afternoon was not for me. The mackerel fly fishing was good fun for all. Thanks Jose

Hi everybody who is interested to know how was our half day fishing trip on the boat Our Mary with captain Jose Serrao in the waters of Atlantic Ocean near to Madeira. We arranged it with many hopes, and waiting and planing and that way we aprouch our target. We started et 9.30h AM and about 16 minutes after 12 PM we had bite. Es war eine sehr schöne Tour. Wir haben zuerst geschleppt,was aber nichts gebracht hat. Da kann keiner was dafür,so ist angeln. Dann haben wir geankert und auf Grund gefischt. Gefangen haben wir einen kleinen Rochen,einen Kl Fisch sowas wie eine kleine Dorade. Dann einen Grundhai,ca.1,3mtr. Zum Schluss noch 2 im Drill verloren,einer davon ein schwerer Fisch, der hat die Schnur durchtrennt. Alles in allem ein Super Tag.
