Warmer water has arrived and now the fish are more motivated to hunt down our baits. We have been fishing shrimp and minnows under popping corks with good success for Redfish and Speckled Trout. Black Drum have been biting well along shore structure and docks. Its a great time to get on the water. Let's go!

The past few days have been good as we pushed back into the creeks to get out of the wind. Zeke and I found a spot where the Redfish were piled up around an oyster bed near some deep water. We drifted live minnows into the hole and got bit consistently for nearly two hours. The next day Peter and I went in the other direction and found a school set up just outside some shallow water. Peter landed his cast just above the school and let the current push it into the strike zone. Peter landed so many quality Redfish that he told me halfway through the trip that his arms were tired and he was ready to call it a day. That doesn't happen often but when it does I know we had a good day!

Great fishing inshore this week during Easter break despite some variable weather. The Redfish, Speckled Trout and Flounder ate well during the day. We had good success with minnows and shrimp presented with popping corks and jigs. This week's weather looks good with light winds forecast for the morning. Let's go fishing!

Charter fishing in Folly Beach fishing have been great the past few weeks. Deep Sea fishing, nearshore fishing and inshore fishing has benefited from a very mild winter and warm temperatures. Inshore charter fishing in Folly Beach is a great option this time of year. The Redfish, Speckled Trout and Black Drum are feeding as our waters warm and baitfish move into the system. Fish have been eager to eat our live minnows and shrimp. For those who wish to cast lures, we have had great success on smaller plastics and jigs fished around oyster beds and docks. The other nice thing about spring is we typically can fish close to our pickup location. Or perhaps we make one long run and fish an area the for several hours. The goal is to spend more time fishing rather than driving, and calm waters are the norm for inshore fishing. Deep Sea Charter Fishing Folly Beach have been targeting assorted snapper, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Sea Bass and too many other species to mention. Nearshore fishing at the reefs and wrecks just off the beach have been catching Black Drum, Weakfish, Bluefish, Bull Redfish and Sheepshead. Started at the jetties targeting Black Drum and Weakfish with live shrimp. Then moved inshore and targeted Redfish and Speckled Trout. Great action all day. Sent the clients home with some good eating fish for dinner!

Charter fishing in Folly Beach fishing has been good as we enjoy another mild winter. Deep Sea fishing charters have been producing good size and numbers of King Mackerel, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Redfish, Black Sea Bass and several other species. These fish are aggressively attacking a variety of cut and live baits. Our Folly Beach Deep Sea boats are fishing in 50 to 70 ft of water and focusing on reefs and wrecks while bottom fishing. We have also found a tendency to score larger fish on big artificial lures such as Bucktail jigs and 5 inch Z-man swim baits by trolling and jigging around submerged structure and rock piles. Our weather has been a little tough off the beach. On days that we haven't been to travel far due to rough conditions we have had great luck staying inside the jetties and close to shore. Big schools of Redfish are cruising the numerous flats in Folly Beach. We have been catching those fish using soft plastics, live shrimp, mud minnows and cut mullet. Many big redfish are being caught and we have had much of the water to ourselves, especially during the week. Keep in mind the fish can be spooky and a quiet approach will help you get more bites. The best thing to do is give them some room and watch how they react to your presentation. If they don’t hit the first bait you throw towards them try another. We recently had to back off our fish a few times and let them rest for 5 or 10 minutes before making another presentation and hooking up. The fish are here and biting and our short cold spells will soon give way to longer warm spells then, before you know it Spring will be here!
