The water was colder than normal for this time of year so the fish weren't as abundant. I guess they head out of the bay with cold water. However, we still had good action and caught what we were hoping for!

A fish processor came to the boat and took us to their shop, vacuum packed the catch over night and delivered a 50 pound, airport ready box for us the following morning at 7:00 am, so convenient and reasonably priced. If you have a great trip like we did, tip captain and mate generously, they deserve it!

Read all the reviews of the boats listed on the site. We thought that a larger boat might be better equipped to handle the swells (which it did) but upon return, some of the smaller vessels actually caught more fish and marlin which we were hoping for. We understand that marlin are in towards Dec. & Jan. Nevertheless, this is my second time going personally and cannot wait to go back next year! You will not be disappointed. The people are wonderful in Cabo

It's hard for me to call it for you accurately because there is a Category 5 Hurricane a few hundred miles off the coast (I obviously didn't plan on that 4 months ago when I booked this vacation) it's been pushing 10 and 12 ft waves in on the beach and once we got out to the fishing grounds fortunately they were a couple secs apart but 8 ft nonetheless. I'd like to try it again under different circumstances. I catch and land a Black Marlin and a few Chicken Mahi but were only last about 3 hrs on the water cause it was just too rough.

Yes I recommend.
I booked a private charter my son and I. A father son experience. Leaving the dock it was an incredible sunrise as you can see in the video.
Then when we started driving out, due to storms a few hundered miles south, the swells in the ocean were big, not height but constantly rough. We powered through and went after Marlin. We went through visited a couple spots. About 2 hours in. FISH ON! The battle was on, and as a good dad I deferred to my son to battle the fish. During the 30-40 min battle, the fished jumped out of the water and it was incredible. It was not a Marlin. It was a rare, blue sparkly spotted Sailfish. Wow. I knew these were rare and if you get lucky, you get a Marlin but we hooked a Sailfish. The battle was intense, and when it was jumping out of the water wow! It was out of a dream.
This fish was magical and we decided to keep it and make a trophy. It was 90 inches and 101 pounds.
I want to say Alfonso (Captain) and Edgar (First Mate) were incredible. A fun group. My son and I had a great time.
I recommend booking them for sure! We did have to reschedule one day later due to the weather being bad the day before, they were easy with that.
Thank you BlueSea Sportsfishing for providing an experience of a lifetime. We will see you again soon!

These guys were just so nice and the fishing experience may not have ended how you would see on tiktok or something crazy, but the men in the ship her all very kind and my first experience deep sea fishin trip was not disappointing

Get yourself a good captain who has good vision. I wish I would have stretched my arms before heading out (I am still sore 2 days after fighting my fish for 1 hour). Be patient and get ready for a fun fight!

This is an awesome place to go fishing. The water 12 miles out was 600 to 800 feet deep. This allows you a lot more fishing on your trip. At 1 to 2 miles out you are already 250 feet deep.
Great place and very friendly people.

Keep our expectations realistic sometimes the fish do not cooperate. Give the captain 1 or 2 species to target and listen to him when he tells you what is biting and what is not. Make sure you hydrate the day before your trip. Sunblock is an essential item to bring,
You can purchase box lunches at Captain Tonys at 5:30 am. Is about a 5 min walk from the restaurant to the boat dock.
Captain will call someone to clean your fish for you at the end of the trip.

Fish the full day. 8 hours is a good bet to catch your targeted species. Have about 20 usd for cleaning your catch. I recommend going to a restaurant near the marina to have some of your fresh catch cooked. We got our mahi sashimi, and blackened. We got our bonito grilled. And the grouper was beer battered and fried.

If you are fishing for the first time and have never been on a boat, bigger boats can be more stable for you but the panga was great for my cousin! Take some Dramamine if you get motion sickness before you get on the boat and enjoy the trip. We had fun catching giant trevally and bonito. Not everyone's cup of tea but it made us happy. In Hawaii we call trevally Ulua, and it's a treu game fish inshore.

Best Marlin fishing is Aug-Oct. A combo trip for getting dinner & poss trophy is best. Waters can be a bit rough for children, older kids, maybe 14-16+ i waters further from in-shore fishing especially

Research seasons. Unfortunately we had the trip planned and then decided to go fishing. We didn't get into any Mahi Mahi like we would've liked and the marlin were few. If you are coming just for fishing come later in the year.

If you are looking for marlin and such, you may want to look at a longer trip. That being said, it seemed as though we were pretty successful and some of the other boats were not so it may have been a slow morning. Either way, we had a great day, saw some great things and scenery. Thanks again.

Don't expect big fish in February. We had a cold front moving through. This made the weather incredibly comfortable (high mid 70's in the day, low mid 60's at night) but slowed the fishing down. On the upside the whales are everywhere this time of year.

My husband and I were not looking to go out for trophy fish, we just wanted to have fun fishing in Cabo San Lucas so booked a private trip with Cabo Mahi Mahi – Samantha. Our guide, Jose Cesena, and his assistant were enjoyable to be with and we caught Spanish mackerel of varying sizes, a Yellowtail tuna (the sea lion won that battle - he got the fish and I got only the head!) and we also caught several other large fish that were fun to catch but not good to eat so we tossed them back. I guess it depends on what you are looking to catch. We were not disappointed and had a delicious dinner of fresh fish.

Fished in 2020, 2021, 2022 and in my opinion...the action starts after 11am-ish till the evening. Feels slow in the morning hours, especially if your targeting larger game like Mahi, Yellowtail, Marlin...

We really enjoyed fishing but the sea was a bit rough. Cabo in May-June is changing seasons so the winds are very present. This made the sea a bit rough and for someone who gets motion sick it was a bit much. Just keep that in mind and go fishing in the morning and not in the afternoon if your fishing during these months.

Fishing in March much poorer for Dorado (mahi-mahi). Saw a few boats catching marlin near us (we were not targetting marlin). Caught numerous Bonitos, one small dorado (unusual), one spanish mackerel, and one trigger fish (bottom fishing).

if you want to fish on your Cabo trip , check out the options Before you arrive so you know what you should expect both on prices but also what fish are "in season" and thus most likely to be caught. Also you will be prepared for the "want to go fishing mister" pitches you will inevitably get anywhere you walk in Cabo ....

Don't over do it on the caffeine I know its early but your out in sea and the coffee, or energy drink is going to bounce up and down in your stomach. Second drink lots of water, on a hot day pour water on your head to prevent your self from heat stroke.

bring sunscreen, a good book and some patience... It is offshore fishing "Not Offshore Catching". You will get the bites, just enjoy everything around you for what it is. Blue water good friends and family. When the bite happens, be ready, listen to the crew and captain. HAVE FUN

Pack a light jacket and sunscreen. The temperature was low 60's in the morning and heated up to low 80's mid day. Make sure you have a way of transporting your catch back with you. One collapsible cooler will fit about 50lbs of fish (and is still fairly manageable to transport).

We fished in Cabo in mid May 2019. The first two days were slow but the third day was great. It sounds like the striped Marlin fishing was just starting to get good. The rooster fishing was also good this time of year. Overall a great value for fishing compared to prices for charters at other destinations

Come during a peak season for the fish you want. It is expensive because everyone gets their hand for money in your fishing trip (taxis, resorts, fishing company, fishing license, bait, filleting the fish, freezing the fish, etc....) Not to mention the pressure to catch and release. I love fish and wanted to keep it so we did.

Dress warm(waterproof jacket) in case of weather change and could get windy. No bathroom on boat. I asked the captain that I was not interested in Marlin and wanted to catch fish to eat. They can take you elsewhere to fish.

It was Fun, 4 hours might be too short 8 was a long day. Its fishing you might hook up or you might not ! Saw a whale, had Pelicans and a sea Lion jump on the back of the boat to get at the live well where the bait was stored. We let him eat it, cause he was pretty big and grumpy.

You get what you pay for....so if you want a sightseeing tour where you might catch fish go for pricepoint.....but if you want to catch fish with top notch fishermen and gear do a little research on who you're going with before booking......I wasted money trying to fish everyday on some pangas but I experienced broken gear poor equipment and disorganization

It is really hot on the boat in Sept even for the morning trips. Dress in light clothing! Bring sunscreen hat, and sunglasses.
