We specifcally booked this boat because it advertized having an air conditioned cabin. There was in fact no AC during our charter. We asked about turning on the AC and were told it didnt work. This caused our group to get overheated and physically sick,(to the point of puking) making everyone miserable. We ended up cutting our 8 hour booking in half. We took Dramamine beforehand and have been out on trips like this before, so it wasnt because we "didnt have our sea legs". We also weren't informed that the sea was going to be rough. Otherwise we probably would have made a different decision to go out as far as we did. We felt that we also got carbon monioxide poisoning from the engine smoke circulating from the back of the boat into the cabin. The door into the cabin couldnt be closed due to being zip tied open.

I researched the fishing prior and it showed it was low/gloom but we were catching so much barracuda that we headed out for sailfish and then we we’re got into bonita that I wasn’t sure if we could hold more fish lol. Then we cought 4 sail fish. 3 at one time

Be prepared to have the fishing experience of a lifetime with these guys.
If you've never been deep sea fishing, I would highly recommend eating some Gravol
About an hour before your trip.
The swells can get pretty big and you are out there for quite a while so be prepared.
Also, be prepared to have a sore arm from reeling in so many fish!

Inshore fishing is a great option for the winter months. You can do it most of the time when seas don’t allow you to go deep seas fishing. Still fun, still catching a verity of species. Kid friendly and close to shore.

Be ready to catch fish! If the captain reaches out and asks what kind of fish you would like to catch, I suggest saying "the big ones." That's just me. We were informed that we could have targeted some other fish that were further south, but they would not likely to be very big. When the captain knew we wanted to hunt for bigger fish, he took us to where the big fish were. It did not disappoint. we caught huge bonito, king mackerel and a bull shark. The crew provided us with a cooler full of water, soda and beer. That was great. I strongly suggest bringing your own meal from your resort and layers to hide you from the sun. sunscreen is not comfortable when you're fishing under the sun all day.

Well the trip should have been canceled
Lightning and thunderstorms a water spout
15 foot waves every one got sick couldn't stand up on the boat. Spent 3 hour holding on for dear life. Worse thing I ever did.

Weather could be tricky, so check the night before that your trip and captains equipment is still good.
Check for additional fees with your captain before you come. This particular trip was what I expected, but some others charge more fees that were not listed
Christopher Tashjian
Come without expectations. It's fishing after all. The team will do their best. We caught so many fish our arms are sore from reeling them in.
Bring snacks if you want them. Helpful on an 8 hour trip. And yes I would only go on an 8 hour trip. The value and experience is too great to pass up.

Cancun is warm waters almost year round so fishing is always good. Consider what you’re hoping to catch as they do have seasons for certain fish and if you want to deal with possible weather or wind issues as there are times of year these are more predictable in planning. Cancun fishing is some of the best around for cost and catch. I’ve fished the east coast of the US and Gulf Stream, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Cancun many teams. Cancun is at the top of my list for offshore fishing experience.

Martin and Spicy(deckhand) took great care of us and got us on fish within minutes of getting to the fishing grounds. We had doubles a few times. When we were done fishing Spicy made us ceviche. It was some of the best I had ever eaten. If I come back to Cancun, I will most definitely be reaching out to Martin again.

Had a great trip, first time out in the ocean and it went great. Beautiful day, low minds and fun time with captain Romeo. Started off catching some live bait and was slow at first but then caught 4 fish right away and headed out to deeper seas. Once out, had plenty of fishing and beers in between the wait. In total we caught 6 fish but 3 were too small to keep and brought back 3. Would highly recommend this trip for anyone that wants to try sea fishing.

If you are an avid fisherman, tell the captain no trolling. If you troll, they put the bait on the rod. They do the casting. They fish. All you do is bring the fish in once hooked. So they have all the fun and pay them too. I want a fishing rod in my hand at all times. I don't want to sit on the boat and be bored watching them do everything. That is not my style of fishing. I cast, I caught the fish.

If you come for the fishing and plan to take your catch home, make sure that the hotel you book will allow/provide you to use their freezer space for your fish. You don't want to be hauling 2 or 3 day old fish anywhere unless it is frozen as soon as possible after being caught. Freezer space at hotels on the West Coast (Cabos) is standard but we have run into some difficulties here in Cancun. The resort owners need to step it up and accommodate anglers that want to keep their catch.

Bring Cash!!!!!!! Go with bigger boats for comfort, take at least 8 hours trip, and ask the captain to fish got the more difficult bigger fish first save the last few hours to catch the easiest fish.

Smaller boat and small crew. However wonderful trip for 2-4 adults due to boat size. We caught a giant barracuda with really no problem so the gear, tackle etc was effective. Crew was very very nice and understand English great. Give them a shot!!!!

I 100% recommend it to all ages. They were very professional and helpful about what we should do with our catch. We ate ceviche and fish tacos from oylur barracuda catch at the onsite restaurant. My only advice is is specify what you want cooked. We had 32 tacos and 2 bowls of ceviche for 3 people. My family had a great time!!!!

Don't go out if water conditions were like ours if you are prone to seasickness. Two of the four in our party got seasick because of the water conditions.
The conditions were not the best, but the boat and crew were top-notch. We thoroughly enjoyed the fishing and the fish we caught made it worth it.
Rob Frankenberger
Morning trips have better odds at catching fish, and you should book 6 hours or more if you're targeting marlin and sail fish.
Neil Ferrell
Be prepared to fish like you never have before. I still can't believe the size an quantity of fish we brought in.
Rolando Esparza
My 8 and 10 year old girls got a little bit sea sick, but my 4 years old did well. Make sure you prepare for that

If you want to experience the trill of catching a lot of fightsy barracuda, this is the one for you.
Matt Lallemont
Be patient and let the crew do their job getting you on fish. Took us quite a while but once the caption put us on fish it was a steady bite!
Jeff Hadden
Seas are pretty rough in February. Recommend you take Dramamine. If you want to catch some fish for dinner, make sure the captain stops at a reef for snapper, grouper, etc.
Brian Rangel
Wasn’t really sure if we’d catch much being out of the better season for fishing. Was quite surprised to catch so many today. A variety of fish reeled-in in a 6 hour trip.
Richard Meyer
Yes. We let Captain recommend what to chase. We just wanted to catch fish. He kept us on big Amberjacks. Caught more than 2 an hour with 2 fisherman. Great trip.
Dan Long
Fishing isn't always catching but I appreciate a crew that works very hard. We had a great haul but even if we hadn't I'd have been pleased with the effort.
Ryan Bell
Beach fishing is almost out of the question, deep sea is a lot of trolling and hit or miss the lagoon is the place to get on the water
Jon Doctor
Fishing does not equal catching. You can expect wind in January and that can make the conditions tough. Even the deep sea charters were forced in to fish nearshore species.

The captain and crew for very forthright in letting us know that fishing had somewhat slowed. However, we ended up having a very fun and successful day! If you listen to your crew and trust them they will do all they can to put you on the fish you want. For us, it wasn't about the type of fish but more about trying to find something to mount on our wall at home. I struggled with going for a trophy vs. food, but ultimately we ended up catching only bonita and tuna so we certainly enjoyed the best of both worlds being able to mount 2 trophy-quality fish in our 9-fish catch!
