What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Detroit, Michigan for the first time?

What a great experience! My goal was to create quality time with my son and his BFF. I wasn't disappointed. Captain Chris was very professional and knew exactly what he was doing. I've done similar trips in the past, but this is my most notable one. Thank you!

Be sure to go at least once with a Charter Captain who is experienced in fishing the Detroit River so he knows the current and specific areas to go to find fish. Met others that day who had gone out on their own and caught nothing.

You can expect to catch bigger fish in April but the number of fish caught might be better in late or May. The weather conditions and water temperatures can make fishing in early April at times a bit difficult. We had to reschedule a trip as a result of bad weather.

We fished Saginaw bay and only got 3 fish. We caught 12 walleye and three 2 back that were small. Eric went over and beyond for helping us catch fish

Early April til early May is best, get a good captain late scouts out the area and have a great time.
