That depends upon the time of year, and the experience level of the people fishing, and whether they are looking for a trophy fish, or to fill the freezer with delectable Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna, Cobia, or reef dwellers. Rank beginners will have great fun catching Bonita and Barracuda, neither of which is edible, but Bonita make great bait, whole for billfish, or strips of belly meat for other gamefish and some reef dwellers. Little children will have great fun fishing Kabuki's to use for bait fish at the outset of a 6 hour or all day trip and can catch lots of them in a short time. Then adults use those baits the rest of the day or part of the day. Catching reef dwellers usually entails drifting over the reefs or sunken ships, and when it's a bit choppy, might make people prone to seasickness uncomfortable. Trolling for gamefish, like mentioned above, is better for folks that suffer. Typically in the Mid December to late March, as well as July through September, in Jupiter, Dorado and wahoo are scattered, but bigger ones of 25 to 45 pounds, if you happen upon them, than the school fish in the 5 to 15 pound varieties found more plentifully and more frequently in April thru June, and again in October through mid December. Sailfish and Blue or White Marlin can be found year round, with their bait taking tendencies very much governed by water temperatures, access to readily available bait fish, tides, times of day, weather conditions, and a small host of variables. Fairly less comfortable fishing weather, both as to more winds, higher choppy seas to outright higher seas, i. e., 5 to 10 foot seas, often produces the best billfish and gamefish results, and while that is fishable, it's not comfortable in any boat. Lots of charter captains won't go out in 8 to 10 foot seas, even for experienced fiaherman, or their insurance doesn't permit them to do so.

It was a little choppy but I don’t imagine that had to deal with it being December. Sergio said the wind change didn’t help that so it’s tough to say. But it wasn’t too hot and it was so pretty.

We didn’t fish in Jupiter as advertised, we had to drive down to Riviera Beach. Not honest. Brochure said bait and tackle included and then they pinched me into buying $180 in live bait and then put Dead Bonita strips on the line for 2 hours while we caught nothing of value. Had to talk them into using my live bait as they seemed to want to save it for themselves as there were still 4 left when we went in for the day. Owner then screwed me for a 3rd time when he wouldn’t answer my call as to why when I owed $930 after the deposit he charged me $1054 on my credit card and wouldn’t itemize or explain. We had a great day fishing with the mate Sergio but it was a grifter operation.

The bite is hit or miss but the captain and first mate do everything they can to put you on them, unfortunately they can't make the fish bite so that is out of their control. Either way you will leave dock with fish and a great experience!

As long as you fish before a cold front comes through, you should have a good time inshore fishing.

Water Temps are high making fishing a little slower for some. Going with an experienced guide who knows the area and the fish in it is definately the way to go. Private charters can give you that.

June not ideal as bonito generally get in the way of quality fish like dolphin wahoo or king. But generally good action just may hook into a lot of junk fish.

Jupiter is a great place to fish. Make sure you set expectations before you go and make it known if those expectations were not met.

In April snook just started showing up inshore. According to local captains, the best time for snook in July when they spawn. But, still you can catch some good fish… if you find them.

Extremely high tide and cooler weather limited the number of bites and catches. Capt. Trey was great and very knowledgeable.
