Water seems to be so colgado this days and many species are not on yet. It seems after May there is mor variety.

We can’t say enough good things about our time fishing in Wrightsville Beach! We had a blast spending the afternoon on the water catching Spanish Mackerel and several other fish! Captain “Big Fish” Monty and 1st Mate Kyle Fox were absolutely awesome and we can’t wait to come back and do it again!!!! Highly Recommended!!!! Neil and Lana Thrasher Nashville TN

Check ahead with what's biting in the area if you have some flexibility in your travels to the area. Depending on the warmth of the water, you may have different experiences. We just missed spanish mackerel season by a week!

This time of year is tricky due to the weather. Bring a positive attitude. I would recommend rain gear. You may get wet on the way out depending on the ocean. Gloves , hat, jacket will be needed in the cold months.

The sea sting is the top right boat 42 ft cubby cabin nice toilet area spacious comfortable seating and to get up and move Captain Jess's knowledgeable of the reefs and we had a great time. And as a former first mate my first job was on a diet boot fishing boat I wish we had a boat nice as his can't wait to go back

We had a cold morning that wasn’t optimal for fishing but it could just as easily have been warmer.

Wear added layers of clothing this time of year! The weather swings 30-40 degrees each day and on the water with wind can catch you by surprise!

Don't forget a jacket. It was warm the morning of, but got colder during the day.

The trip was on calm water, because the Captain communicated prior to the trip and adjusted the trio time. We caught many fish throughout the day, most were undersized but it was a great day and we were always catching fish.

Good because we caught fish, would have liked to catch more, but we had fun

"What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Hatteras for the first time?" - The weather isn't always going to cooperate and give you a nice day. Talk to your captain ahead of time and they will tell you how to prepare yourself for when you are on the boat. They want you to be comfortable and have a great time, so listen to what they say.

Bring warm clothing and rain gear during the winter months...even when it is supposed to be in the 60s.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect for it being early November but the weather was perfect and mid 70s.

I can't answer that it was my first time fishing this time of year and in the outer banks

Take the time and money to charter a guide who knows the area. You'll have a much better time and learn the area.

It sounds like the odds are better in the early (spring/summer) season for most species. I think the chamber of commerce may slightly exaggerate fall fishing opportunities.
