Morning trips in September produce a little more from what I understand. But we caught some and missed alot on our evening charter. Not used to having bait sucked off the hook being a bass guy from Pa. Lol

Be ready for a busy day of fishing. I landed around 30 fish of varying species on my 4 hour trip. The fish are definitely out there and a quality guide is key to getting you on them.

Watch for the weather breaks, we were two days after a hurricane Idalia, inshore the water was still very murky, offshore was beautiful.

We usually fish from Nags Head, but we've caught as many as with Capt. Mike.

Captain Mason had us on the fish for the entire trip. We got about 15 pounds of Red Fish. We also caught Black Drum, White Drum, Sheepshead, Croakers and a Black Tipped Shark. My arm is still a little soar from reeling in those huge Red Fish. Worth the money.

Make sure you take food and water for the trip. The boat was nice enough to give us some water. When we ran out as it was a very hot day. The fishing was great.

The ocean was amazing with how smooth it was. Be sure to check the wind forecast. Trolling to us was not exactly "fishing", but it was still fun.

Yes, it was my first near shore fishing trip and I brought back plenty of fish for multiple dinners.

Plan for unpredictable weather. June in Carolina is a gamble. It’s usually hot, but you really really need to bring layers.

CB is a great little beach town. Bracketed by Wilmington and Southport - it's a good place to stay, eat, fish & beach.. or drive 30 mins and explore some of the other local areas. Several very nice golf courses nearby too

I’m not an experienced fisherman by any means so my best recommendation is hire a professional to take you where the fish are! You can’t go wrong with Captain Randy & 1st Mate Nick with Fish Whistle fishing charter!

We fished in late April and there were lots of opportunities for multiple species.

Carolina Beach is much more relaxed and family oriented. Easier to navigate, less crime/traffic. We love the area overall, not just for fishing.

Review parking opportunities prior to booking date. City parking system is not necessarily intuitive.

Keep your expectations wide open, because there are so many different species to target, depending on the time of year.
