Unfortunately grouper was closed, so that wasn't an option this round. It closed just days before our trip, not a reflection on the trip itself, just the way of things here. A cold front pushed in, limiting how far out we could go.

Not enough parking for cars. Got a ticket for parking in a trailer spot but there is only 6 spots for cars. Going to court for the ticket.

Awesome spots, great fish from what we experienced at least. Out in the LGI area they had plenty of old bridge posts with good fish

So much to enjoy in Englewood, great water quality when I was there in July. Can't miss!

Take lots to drink, sunscreen, sunshirt, hat, cooling towel if you’re going all day!

If you’re not used to the sun, there’s nowhere to get away from it. Long pants, long sleeve shirts and wide brim hats will make your day more pleasant.!

I am not experienced fisherman, but going early is better, as you miss the heat. And 100% go with an experienced guide.

If you’re a first time fisherman, the intercoastal offers a nice place to get comfortable with your gear. If you’re experienced, the gulf is just right there and easy to access. March was a good time of year to go (March 23rd for us) as it was slightly cool to start, but warm and enjoyable enough and never TOO hot.

We have fished a few places in SW Florida in the past year. Englewood is a gorgeous community without the hectic feel of Naples or Ft Myers. We had fish on all day long. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a more laid back fishing day, where you catch a lot of fish, which is more of what my family enjoys.
