We went fishing third week of Nov, dress warm, otherwise Captain Joe provided everything we needed.

Dress properly for the weather. If your not sure how to dress appropriately for being warm out on the water talk to the captain before your trip so you can fully enjoy your time on the water.

There are restrictions on bass and fluke that should be researched before going. Cod is not available at this time, but will be in colder months. The beaches however cannot be beat in the summer.

Would have loved to catch some Striped Bass but I don't think we went at the best time of year for them. We did catch a wide variety of other types, however, and several were even keepers!

Clam or squid as bait on a hook that’s not too big but not to small with a 6 or more oz sinker at the bottom of your rig

Yes I would recommend fishing stripers for the first time in May. Jason from the Janie k sportfishing was excellent so was his deck hand both very knowledgeable and both went the extra mile for you to make sure you were comfortable and caught the fish you wanted.

Trust the captain. This was an excellent year for stripers so far. When you book they will be honest on what the conditions are like.

I definitely recommend going out early to beat the rush, and booking with Hook and Fin Fishing charters.

I would suggest asking the captain what is running when you arrive, you will not be disappointed!

Great fishing, a lot of boats to choose from. Everyone is friendly and it's a beautiful area.

There was a mix up on fishingbokker. We thought we were going out for fluke but that wasn’t the case. We didn’t realize until we were at the marina. Not a huge deal but was more of a mixup on the website than a negative review on the ship or captain.

Don't bring anything but food and drinks. Westwind staff will handle the rest
