It's been a little tough with the rip current advisory, but dispite the water being a little rough the charter was a success.

Be prepared for cooler weather on the water and at speed on the boat…...layer your clothing. Sunglasses, hats a must! It sure beats sweltering in the summer heat though!!

Definitely would recommend Captain Chad for first time anglers of any age. He has the patience and knowledge needed for that first time angler to motivate them to keep fishing in the future.

For first timers, try a four-hour nearshore charter, but if you want to deep sea fish you will probably need a full day. We booked with Captain Jayson Self on the King of Kings boat, a 38-footer with covered area and a toilet. Captain Jayson & Juan were very helpful and fun to be with. Having a great captain, crew, and a boat with a covered area and toilet makes for a great trip. We caught 35+ fish which also makes for a great charter!

Go out to federal waters if you want to get bigger fish this time of year. Still fun to fish in state waters though, and you might get lucky!

The fish weren’t biting heavily today, but we were able to catch about 2 lbs of fish for dinner.

Try one of the party boats first round out. It's an inexpensive way to get a taste of the area and you have a ton of space to get out of the sun if needed.

Many options. Know the difference between state and federally permitted charters. State can only go up to nine Miles out. Federally permitted charters can go out deeper so your options increase but so generally does the cost.

Make sure to ask what’s in season and you what you can take home by law..

It’s just hot! We got lucky and most of our trip was overcast but as soon as that sun came out the kids were getting hot very quickly, especially with having to wear life vests.

The fishing is great when you have a captain who knows what he's doing. Had a great time. Will charter again the next time I'm in Destin

Bring food and drinks. Take motion sickness medication an hour before the trip. Be respectful respected practice is to tip your crew at the end of the trip.
