Trip Summary
Mr Alexander chartered the Billfish for a 8hrs trip looking for some good time on the water and he was on the fighting chair early into the trip.We found a school of skipjack tuna (bonito) and small yellowfin tuna feeding on the surface and thought about making a few rounds in that school with the big lures before switching to smaller lures in order to get a bonito for live baiting. The idea paid off as a black attacked the lure on the center rigger without a hookup then it came back and hit the long rigger lure still without a hookup. On the third attempt we got a solid hookup and the black marlin started jumping across the very calm sea.We had it onboard after half an hour.We then caught some bonitos and a small yellowfin that we used as live bait.We were not lucky live baiting but two boats fishing the same area had strikes and another boat lost and estimated 500 lbs black that broke the line after going under the boat.In the afternoon we switched back to lure trolling as our customer wanted to get another fish before heading back and we did just that catching a nice Dorado.
