Trip Summary

3rd Tournament of the year for us, after winning La Ribera with the 50+ lb yellowfin tuna, we went north to Puerto Escondido, next to Loreto. Fished the 1st Robert Ross FT, with no luck, just a Yellowtail that we presented on the first day. We hurried up to come back to the East Cape, to be here ready to fish the El Cardonal Annual Fishing Tournament. With a participation of 50+ teams. We decided to make a big run to where good sized tuna where starting to show up. After picking up sardines, we travel almost 40 miles to get there, as nobody had sardines there, only us, we were able to chum a lot and lift them up from the bottom. We hooked up right away with this nice 48 lb tuna, and start heading back to the weight station. Trying to get a marlin or dorado to be in all categories, we released a small striped marlin, and beside that no luck. When we arrive to weight station a 104 lb tuna was just been weighted. Obviously they won the category, but for our luck, they were not in the jackpots, so we end up getting $26,000 pesos, not bad for a hard day of work.
