Fishing conditions haven’t been ideal of late with spotty Red Tide, but we have been finding a way to put some fish in the boat without having to run out 50 miles. Spanish Mackerel have been around in good numbers from the beach to 3 miles out feeding on Glass Minnows. We have been catching them by trolling and casting small spoons. Some of the nearshore wrecks have produce some decent sized Snook and free lined Pilchards have worked best for those. Though we haven’t been making long runs on the crab buoys we have been picking up the occasional Triple Tail by running along the buoys on our way to our fishing spots. Fishing should improve as our winter species move in over the next couple weeks.
