Doing well for February @ Island Marina

Trip Summary

Regular customer, Mr. Darryl, who has booked at least one trip a month for over a year now, came out with me twice in the last two weeks. On our first trip this month, Darryl and I put 38 Speckled Trout in the boat before the tide stopped and shut it down. A week later, Darryl's son, Nick joined us. We found tougher conditions, and dirty water at every stop. We decided to head back towards Island Marina in New Orleans to catch a bunch of Redfish. On the way back, I remembered an old spot I haven't visited since I was a teenager. We decided to give the Trout one more shot there. We found dirty water there, but plenty of bait fish. First cast produced a 16" Speck. Darryl and Nick then proceeded to steadily catch until we hit 40 Speckled Trout and a Blue Catfish. We were only 10 shy of the limit, but we couldn't get another bite. We called it a day around 1pm. February is a tough month for fishing, but they did a great job despite the conditions we faced.
