Good quality bass on the FINRUNNER

Trip Summary

Fun trip down to the border of Mexico this morning with a crew from Missouri. We set out looking for rockfish, bass, and yellowtail at 0600 in 4-5 foot swells, winds at 15-17 knots just south of Point Loma. Not exactly ideal weather for fishing. But what a great family! We tried a few spots but the current on the bottom was ripping. After teaching the clients how to use the tackle, I located a couple of pinnacles that were holding good quality bass. It was often two at a time on double dropper loops and bucktail jigs. Despite the weather conditions and not getting the yellowtail to chew, we had a great time getting on the sand bass and calico bass! Thanks guys!
