We went out on an offshore reef fishing trip on Thursday morning. We started our trip fishing over some bridge rubble. We were mainly fishing with a two hook set up we call a “chicken rig”. The bite was slow but we boated a few trigger fish. We changed tactics and moved to one of our favorite pyramids. Here we caught a few b-liners and some small red snapper. Still the bite was slow but we continued to catch fish here and there. Surprisingly, One of the guys (Ryan) had a fish rip his bait and start screaming for the bottom. Ryan like a pro quickly turned the fish around, Ryan looked at me and said Mr Tommy, this is somethng different than what we have been catching. Man was he right. He caught a giant triggerfish! Awesome job and his fish turned the trip into a great trip! Until next time, Captain Tommy
