Overnight Fishing Trip

Trip Summary

Left the dock around 1:00pm Sunday afternoon and made the hour and half run to our campsite stopping to fish along the way. Wind was about 10 its from the south west so perfect conditions to keep the bugs away but not so good to fish so we waited until dusk to head out again after setting up camp. As the sun was setting we got into a large school of fish catching a pompano, a few trout, and few snook before dark. That night we tried catching snook but kept getting shark after shark until we gave up around midnight. Also a few crocs moved in so we decided it was time to turn in and stop fishing. One thing to note was the amount of tarpon moving through the river in the dark you could hear them rising and gulping air all night long. In the morning we made it back out to the fishing grounds and ate breakfast and coffee on the boat before we started our hunt for the day. Ended up catching a Bull shark and numerous catfish, snook, mackerel, and jacks before calling it a trip and heading back home. Made it back to the dock around 5:00pm Monday afternoon. General consensus was that we should've stayed out another day and all wished we didn't have to go back to face the corona virus hysteria. Overall an awesome trip with lots of fun memories can't wait till next year.
