Our two hot weather species - Snook and Tarpon - are loving the warmer weather along Florida's Space and Treasure Coasts. And it doesn't seem to matter where you are fishing either - The Indian River Lagoon near Titusville, the Banana River Lagoon near Cocoa Beach or the Indian River Lagoon in the Vero Beach and Fort Pierce areas. Pictured above are Tim Smith and his two buddies from Fort Walton Beach, George and D Schissler holding huge snook, the largest measuring 43 inches - both caught in two to three feet of the crystal clear shallow water. (These anglers caught inshore slams on back to back days ... jumped several tarpon too). Also pictured with a large snook is Laimonas from Fort Lauderdale, his fish caught in the uber shallow backwaters near Vero Beach. Laimonas and his grandfather-in-law caught an inshore slam too ... also missing on a angry tarpon which put on quite an aerial display) Redfish and Trout are still around too. Pictured holding a dandy redfish from the Banana River near Cocoa Beach is Dominic while his big brother Joe McGill is seen holding a feisty tarpon (both from Charleston, SC). The McGill brothers caught inshore grand slams on two consecutive days.

Fishing has been insanely good the past week. This is Bill Collins from North Carolina who caught as album full of huge gator trout over the past two days in the crystal clear shallow flats of the Indian River Lagoon along Florida's central east coast. The trout ranged in size from 27 to 32 inches and he caught a mess of them. Bill also caught giant snook, redfish, bluefish, jacks and ladyfish.
