Just finished up with 2021 Pelagic Rockstar Tournament here in Quepos. With 67 boats fishing, turnout far exceeded anyone’s expectations. It was great seeing life on the docks again and many faces we haven’t seen in a while. Weather was perfect and there are a lot of fish out there right now. Action was pretty much nonstop throughout the day. With some of the very best crews in the water fishing our waters, it’s amazing how these guys operate and constantly manage to release triple and quad hookups within a matter of a few minutes. We didn’t do too hot on the billfish side going 3 for 3 on sailfish and 1.5 for 3 on marlin. We were unfortunate to spend a lot of time on a marlin only to find out he was wrapped up and the hook was not in his mouth, which would disqualify the catch. We did pull off the day one big fish daily on tuna and Mahi. We were able to follow up on day two once again with the Mahi daily, which led to the overall win and nice check from Pelagic.
