Tuna Tango

Trip Summary

Today we were joined by Casey and Elaine from New York. These two operate Dirty Goose Sportfishing in Pulaski, New York. They were looking for a break for a while, so they decided to head to Costa Rica for a little R&R. Casey showed up at the dock armed with his carry on Yeti cooler with expectations f filling it with tuna to take back to New York. No pressure right ... well, the fish gods listened at they delivered. We kept five nice yellowfin and must have released another dozen or so as we picked thru them. We even managed a sail that came up and at a 4” plastic squid. Once they had their fill of tuna, we put the big stuff out hoping to find a lurking marlin, but had no luck. Things were pretty slow on the troll, so I offered some bottom fishing and they were all for it. I think they had more fun bottom fishing than anything else. We didn’t get any monsters, but had a wide variety of grouper and snapper to round out the day. It was great having another charter operator on board to scrutinize and provide feedback. If you’re ever in New York and looking to fish, I would absolute reach out them. There is no doubt they’re running a first class operation and a ton of fun to fish with.
