Our family of four did a half day trip with Captain Jim. He took us right to a spot that was red hot with snook biting! We caught fish after fish and had a great time. As an added bonus he was quick to point out several dolphins, a nurse shark, a big sting ray and a manatee that were swimming around or under our boat at different times, and he was really patient and great at explaining things to our 8 and 10 year old kids, and answering their countless questions. Our kids talked non stop for hours after we finished about how much fun they had. It was great fun for the adults too. I would highly recommend Captain Jim and Big Daddy sport fishing.

Captain Jim went out of his way to put us on some fish despite a cold spell and general poor fishing conditions in early January ‘22. He even called several days before to see if we could fish a day earlier to avoid high winds and rough conditions on our scheduled day, which was important because our party included our 91 year-old Dad (trip was a birthday present!). When the fish weren’t cooperating much close by, he ran to some distant spots to find fish, and even stayed out past the scheduled end time. We would definitely recommend Captain Jim and plan to book another trip with him in the near future.

We had windy and cold conditions on the tail end of a cold front during Feb, which is a slower month for fishing   Despite these hurdles, Capt Jim found several wind protected honey holes and put us on a variety of fish.  It was a great day and he is a really nice, personable, and professional captain that knows his trade.  I will use him again when I come to Tampa.

Amazing day fishing with James and his crew.  They took care of our family like it was their own and put us on great fish all day.  My two daughters not only enjoyed the fishing, but the overall experience was great.  From the dolphins to snook, and the mighty red, the day was a complete success.  Being an experienced fisherman, they made sure I had my opportunity for big fish, but at the same time they made sure my girls and my wife were taken care of.  Definitely booking with James and his team in the future.

Great trip. Captain communicated well beforehand and was prepared and ready to go morning of. Put us on fish species we requested and made sure we caught plenty. Friendly and professional and did a great job of piloting the boat to make sure we didn’t get bounced around and safely navigated with other boats. Boat was clean, well kept with modern equipment. Captain was attentive, knowledgeable and patient while fishing. We had a great experience with Big Daddy
