From the moment I phoned . Everything was set up , from the date I wanted to fish to sandwiches I wanted for lunch . I can’t fault the communication between the first phone call and the actually fishing day ,may is not high season for sea fishing in Thailand but having said that ! The captain and crew worked very hard to find us some good sport .we were picked up at about 7.30 am from hotel and Taken straight to the boat ’ a trip of about 45 minutes bought us to our first spot were we fished for some bait fish , good sport in its self on light gear , giging , once we had enough bait fish and the tide started to move we moved to a small reef to fish for long tom ( which I know as alligator gar ) With a light wait rod and 20lb line with 12”” wire trace and 3 single hooks about 1’’ apart ! First cast I was into a fish of about 1.2 m Stayed there for about 2hours and caught 3 fish till the tide stopped ! You need a good run of water for long tom to bite ! Once tide stopped we then went on to see if we could find some King mackerel ! Put out a few live bait fish on heavy gear but no kings ! Bought lines back in only to find one had been bitten for head down , so unlucky , from there we went to a other small reef were we had a few more long tom all about 1.m long . But all in all a very good day out Thanks to the crew

The boat was well equipped, and we had local skipper and deck hand, both had good local knowledge of the waters, unfortunately the owner could not join us. We had only one bit on the main lines which got away more to my lack of experience. we did find a good spot and caught many smaller snappers and barracuda, and little shark.
The guys did drop us off on the return to swim at a local island which is a nice break for us . Jari is very kind and friendly and even arranged to let us eat our catch at a local restaurant. Overall we had a great of day although the big fish still waits me.
