The 12-hour trip was a great mix of various kinds of fishing. Captain Mike consistently put us over spots with lots of fish.  Felt a bit bad for his son, the First Mate, when we kept pulling up dogfish in between the good stuff, but he handled it well and humurously. Of course we hoped to take a bug tuna or edible shark, but sometimes that’s more up to the fish than the crew.  We did catch 12 species of bottom-fish fish and one 7’  200 pound blue shark.  The shark wasn’t a variety good for eating, but we came home with many pounds of fillets + 42 mackerel ready to cook.  Would definitely go with Fishbucket again!

Went out on the 3 hr evening trip with Captain Mike and his son Jay (or was it Brad-sorry bro). It took a bit to find the bait fish schools but once we did Jay/Brad was picking them out of the water with ease and baiting the lines for Striper. The rest of us tried to but only one of three was successful catching bait.

Slow night for Striper but ended up getting into one during the steam back to the dock, and landed my first Striper!

Jay/Brad sashimi’d that guy up and I gave the rest to the other fishermen on board.  Even took a swing past Ol’ Iron Sides!

As soon as we got underway, he immediately put us on the fish. We caught our Stripped Bass limit within the very first hour of fishing and they were all keepers. We had to throw the rest back as catch and release. After that, we spent the rest of our trip fishing for Bluefish. Again, constantly on the fish. He was so good at getting us on spots that other boats were following us around all day. The first mate (Bradley) was always helpful and very friendly. As soon as we had caught a fish, he was ready with the net and constantly helping us. This fishing trip was one to remember and we couldn’t stop talking about it all day even after we got back to the hotel.

My father, brother, sister and I all enjoyed a fine 12 hour day at the Stellwagen Bank with Captain Mike and first mate Phil (aka Buzz). We got to experience a whole new world of fishing my family had previously been completely unaware of! Catching baitfish (Mackerel), chumming for sharks, jigging for Haddock and snagging Manhaden in hopes for a Stripped Bass; were all brand new experiences for us ‘Great Lakes fishermen’!

I highly recommend this charter, and my family had a fantastic time! FYI, our highlight was the 10 foot Blue Shark we brought alongside the boat after a memorable 30 minute fight!
