We booked a salmon trip, but the salmon weren’t biting the previous few days, so Captain Ron recommended we go for other fish (leaving the choice up to us!) We decided to do so and caught so many things — Lingcod, halibut, several types of rockfish, striped bass. We probably caught almost 100 fish, it was incredible! All the while both Ron and Hunter answered questions, chatted, and taught us a bunch of things. Everyone was very pleased, highly recommend this boat and captain. They also cleaned all our fish for us which was great.
(PS. Since there’s Covid, everyone including the crew was good about keeping masks on and generally doing our best to be aware of personal space.)

We all had a great time. Captain Ron and his first mate Hunter know where and how to catch the fish. They helped every step of the way. We caught 14 good size fish. We had fish tacos when we got home. The fillets were beautiful with a very delicate flavor.

Captain Ron is very knowledgeable about the fish of SF bay, how to locate and how to catch! Captain Ron and deckhand of the Nautilus really put out the effort to ensure everyone has a great experience and maximize opportunity to connect with first hand fishing experiences.

First fishing experience and it was wonderful!! Captain Ron and Hunter were both very knowledgeable and skilled!! They knew where all the good spots were and they helped us first timers every step of the way. My whole family enjoyed the trip. We caught 10+ striped bass and 1 rock fish. Might end up doing a whole day trip next time to try our luck with salmon. Definitely recommend and will do again with other friends and family!

We all arrived by 5:30. The Captain was ready to go, everything ran efficiently! The Bay was calm, equipment was ready to go. One little snag. The fish must have been well fed, because they just weren’t biting. Not to worry though, that gave us some time to catch up with friends we haven’t seen in awhile. The Captain definitely went out of his way to look for fish. Oh well, that’s why they call it fishing. After a few catches and a long day, we headed back in. The whole day was well worth the trip and all of us are looking forward to trying it again.
