My wife and I had a half day morning trip with Capt. Ander Meine today.  It was my wife’s first trip on a guided fishing trip.  Ander was very helpful in descriping the proper used of the spinning reel as well as how to fish the various lures she used.  She ended up catching her very first Largemouth and Guadalupe Bass on this trip. In fact, she landed more than I did!  She was on “Cloud Nine”  and already looking forward to going again.  Even though the “Big Ones” were not cooperating, we certainly did not get skunked.  I have fished freshwater and saltwater for many years, but learned some new techniques and fished some lures and rigs that were new to me, but Ander got me up to speed with great instructions.  This old dog definitely learned some new tricks today.  Ander knows his stuff, he is very very informative and knows what works and where.  His Nitro Bass Boat is loaded with everything you need for any fishing situation and, you can trust me on this; it will get you there Quick!  Fishing with Capt. I had to be in Austin area unexpectedly.  I had a free afternoon in a few days so I looked to book a half day trip.  After looking at options, I contact Ander.  He was extremely easy to work with.  Because of the pandemic some areas were closed but he was able to find an open boat launch on Lake Travis.  I met him there around 3:45 PM and we fished until 9 pm.  Ander did a great job showing me new ways and lures to catch bass though I have been fishing for over 60 years.  July 15th was hot, 100 to 104.  We still were able to catch around 15 with two over 2 pounds.  I was very surprised we caught given the weather.  I highly recommend him if you are in Austin area.

My dad and I basically had the fishing trip of our lives.  At 84 years old my dad has been fishing all his life.  On our two-day guided fishing trip Ander got my dad onto the largest bass he has ever caught, 8 lbs 11 oz.  What more can you ask for?
I learned a lot more on this trip than I expected.  Ander drives a brand-new bass boat with all the latest electronics.  He walked us through all the new gizmos, showed us how they worked and told us which ones he thought were worth the money.  Ander didn’t stop there.  I learned about the latest rods, reels, Teflon covered braided filament, hooks, soft baits and fishing techniques.  A fishing trip we will talk about for the rest of our lives.  Thanks Ander.

Great day fishing caught 10 fish in total on a very cold Austin day! Good learning experience for both my son and I. We are beginner / intermediate fisherman. Certainly feel more confident to tackle Bass fishing in Texas now. Thanks for a great day even in chilly climates.

We had an absolutely amazing time! I brought my 13 year old—neither of us are very experienced. Ander taught us, helped us, and hosted us so well. I’d encourage anyone who wants a great day of fishing to use Bassquatch. You can’t go wrong.
