Our half-day with Captain Len Slay started with a boat-ride up river in 32 degree weather. That was a chilling experience but necessary to get to our targeted species.
Great boat, clean and comfy, well appointed and Capt. Len was very disciplined in making sure everything was in its place through the entire trip. Pretty impressive! We boated a jumbo Perch, a 23 inch Walleye and released several spotted Bass. When the bite slowed, we moved to catch Spotted Bass, catch & Release.
Capt. Len had a great location and we boated & released more than a dozen Spotted Bass, several over 5 lbs, several in the 4 lb. range and some smaller. Great fun, very busy and Capt. Len kept hustling to keep our rigs baited and in the water, etc.

Capt. Slay was an excellent captain. The day started out slow and cold but Capt. Slay never gave up. He has a wealth of knowledge of the area and was able to get us on some fish. We caught fish through out the day even taking some home to fry up. He has multiple lakes he fishes on. Ask him for the best recommendation on which lake to fish for what you’re targeting before booking for the best experience! Highly recommend!
