Like getting together with old friends
My daughters in-laws have never been fishing on the Great Lakes and this was on her father-in-law’s bucket list. We booked a charter with Captain Roy for September 2021. When the time came captain Roy told me that the fishing was very slow and they were not marking fish. He said he would take us out if we wanted but catching fish was slim. My daughter and her in-laws had a ways to travel so that information was very much appreciated and we ended up canceling the charter. We rescheduled for August 2022. My daughters father in-law is very competitive and wouldn’t be happy if he didn’t catch any fish. When it was time for the charter the lake was foggy, choppy and possible storms. Just our luck. Captain Roy told me that we will try and go out but stay closer in Incase we needed to get back in. Fishing started out slowly with my daughter Alicia catching around a 15 lb king salmon. Quite a battle for her to get it in the boat. The first mate Sue was very helpful with giving instructions to help get the fish in. Well to get to the point we ended up with 9 fish. 7 kings, a lake trout and a rainbow trout. Fun was had by all. Of course my wife caught the biggest fish a 19 lb king and I caught the smallest fish. The boat and equipment was very nice. When the fishing was slow there was good conversation and stories told. I would highly recommend going fishing with captain Roy and first mate Sue.
