Freddy and the crew were true professionals, had everything prepared ready for fishing and kindly accommodated taking a break so the family could go snorkeling. He knew the local waters well, was able to find the key areas where the different fish were located. A wonderful day out even though we were not expert fishermen they kindly helped and explained everything as well as the local history of the areas we were visiting. Great communication and directions prior to the trip so was very easy to find and exactly on time. Would recommend both for amateurs and professionals given how some of the crew participate in tournaments. A relaxing and fun trip with some great catch!!

Captain Freddy was easy to get in touch with prior to the charter with an email and a text message. The dock was only 5 minutes from the resort, which was super convenient. When we arrived at the dock there wasn’t a clear sign or directions on where to exactly meet up with the boat. We did meet a gentleman that helped us out and showed us where to meet-up with the Reel Hooker. The Captain and two deck hands had everything setup and ready for us to go trolling as soon as we stepped on the boat.
My group consisted of 5 kids (9, 9, 11, 14 & 15) and 3 adults. This was our guys day out while on vacation. As soon as we got out of the canal and on the open water it was pretty rough going. 40 minutes into it 3 of the kids were sea sick. Captain Freddy was very understanding and brought us back to the dock. On our way back we landed a huge sail fish that one of the boys got to reel in.
The boat was a little crowded with 8 of us and the crew in the beginning. There was plenty of water, soda and beer as well as they made us some very interesting dishes to snack on, shrimp ceviche was one of them. The crew was very hard working and proved their expertise to show us a great time. To anyone looking for a great fishing experience I would definitely recommend doing this Charter.
Thanks for having us aboard.

Photos of the boat and cabin on Fishingbooker.com make the boat look nicer than it actually is. I don’t remember the captains name but I believe he was the owner, Captain Freddy Ku Bermon’s brother. I tried several times to reach out to Captain Freddy prior to the trip to ask a few questions and what we can expect, if we can request anything, etc. I never heard back any time.
Snacks were a few bags of chips poured on a wood platter with no dip. Nothing else. Plenty of cold drinks however.
Lunch was basic packaged lunch meats on white bread with cheese made by the deck hand at your request.
I think there was one too many deck hands as it was a bit crowded. We did catch some fish but it wasn’t red hot. Deck hands were good and very accommodating (if you asked) but the one pictured was a rock star. He was always working very hard to catch fish.
Overall the trip and experience was somewhat of a let down, particularly for the price. I did “recommend” though if you are only interested in catching fish and nothing else.

The captain, crew, boat and equipment were all awesome. They were having a difficult week finding fish trolling, and our day was no different. But despite that, the crew never stopped trying and eventually put us on a couple different schools of yellowfin snapper. They made sure everyone one of us put a fish on the boat. They made us fresh shrimp ceviche for the ride back into harbor and had plenty of cold water, soda, and light beers for the day. We took our catch back home to the grill and enjoyed it that evening. Thanks guys!!

It was a great trip. 6 hours was plenty of time to get all the fishing in we wanted. I asked to do different types of fishing. They were more then willing to do that. The crew was great. They were true professionals. While bottom fishing they were ready to jump in with instructions and assistance if they noticed we needed it. We caught all different types of fish. We even caught a Barracuda which we later used a bait. Plenty of drinks.
