Tough day on the water, captain did what he could fish just wouldn’t bite. Thought we might have had better luck with better bait and jigs. All in all a fun day. But… there were some completely unethical practices on the boat. Keeping short flukes for bait to save on buying bait. There was no bait provided except for a couple piece of squid, meant to catch a a short fluke so we had bait. Come on there were two anglers aboard how much bait would we use?. Keeping short sea bass to give us a sushi experience ( apparently the Asians like that, not us ). They couldn’t tie a knot to save their life, lost 4 rigs on a bite. Knot snapped at the hook, come on change the shock leader. It’s monofilament so cheap and doesn’t last like the braid. As an experienced angler there were lots of things I was unimpressed with and think it could have been a better day with better equipment. Good luck maybe it was a fluke

I’m shocked to see such a review like this with incidents that never happened and made up stories. I run a clean operation and take pride in being the best captain I can be and go out of my way to make sure everyone has an enjoyable and safe trip. I always have plenty of bait and top of the line equipment. Of course there will be snags and people tangling up lines it’s expected. As far as to tie a knot I have years of experience and you are the first to say that and it’s untrue. I don’t know why you are taking aim at me and my boat personally but it is ludicrous and untruthful. I’m sorry you felt a need to trash my boat but I know I give a great day out.

Crew and boat was good. There was a lack of versatile good equipment. The sea bass rig I was given didn’t have enough weight.
When I booked I wrote to captain saying we would like to live line for mahi going from lobster pot to lobster pot. Troll for some tuna Captain and mate barely spoke to us when we got on boat almost like we were unwelcome. When we set up to troll we were told were going for false albacore!!! Last I checked that was cat food or shark bait. Why would we pay 200$ a man to catch fish we can’t eat. Tuna trip should be targeting tuna. Yellow blue Sure as hell don’t want to catch false albacore. Then when we go for mahi two guys who didn’t have their own gear were told at first that the boat didn’t have a rod for them to use. Not one live bait on whole boat. Mate throwing 3 small pieces of peanut bunker basically under the boat for chunk. Mate was worthless. Didn’t want to take fish off of hooks for guys who wanted help. Didn’t help with one tangle. And to top it all off we get to dock at end of day only to have to wait for the captain, not the mate, try and fillet our fish. I say try because he butchered the sea bass that we did get just to try and have meat to take home. Half the meat was left on the carcass. All in all it was the worst experience I’ve every had on a paid charter trip. The mate was no mate. Just along for the sun and air because he basically did nothing the whole day except cut a few pieces of bait. Whole catching the sea bass after 15-20 min of out sea bass baking in a bucket of water in the 90plus sun that day I asked if we had ice on boat. Only then did he finally put our fish on ice. Some of which turned mushy and had to be tossed. Wait all year for this trip and this year we were greatly disappointed I would never recommend this boat
