We had an awesome trip !! When we left the marina, we went straight to our first fishing spot, no time wasted catching bait. They had everything ready to go when we arrived. We got on Mahi right away and caught our limit in no time. Not only that, they made sure our two teenage boys caught plenty of fish. Our trip ran over because they were determined to keep those boys engaged and having fun. Capt. Chuck and crew went above and beyond for us. They were constantly changing baits out, moving when things got a little slow and just took excellent care of us. I would absolutely go again with Above The Salt and Capt. Chuck !! Thanks guys !!

AWESOME TRIP! Started out at 7am and headed out. CPT Chuck carried our cooler to the boat and got us underway quickly. He was extremely knowledgeable and had plenty of ways to get the fish biting. Never really had to wait to have a hook rebaited. Caught snapper, mangrove, and the tuna of the gulf. Once we got back he skinned and fileted the fish just like he would his own. Literally all I have to do is cook it and they are ready to eat. Great trip all around, fishing, talking with chuck and listening to some great rock music! HIGHLY RECOMMEND CPT CHUCK AND ABOVE THE SALT CHARTERS!

Well, had to sneak through some dicey weather but captain chuck got us through safely watching everything. Way less than ideal conditions, we wanted red snapper and he worked hard to make it happen using every trick in the book and pulled it off. We had experienced and novice on our trip and everyone caught fish, red snapper keepers, a couple of nice mangrove snapper a couple of nice size spanish mackerel, and a lot of triggerfish (out of season unfortunately). Even my wife, who does love to fish had a great time and didn’t mind me spending the money, her first saltwater adventure.
Captain chuck was even successful in convincing my wife that we need a saltwater boat to redfish and shrimp back in Texas, Cobia maybe? Merc 400 for sure, thanks again for the hard work, the personality and your service.

Took the family out on a 4 hour charter with Captain Chuck this morning. Had a blast! The Captain put us on the fish fast. We killed it for a couple hours before they stopped biting. I’d say we caught between 20 and 25 fish. We caught a ton of trigger fish and probably 6 remora. Not what we were going for but we did get 3 big red snappers and 1 nice mangrove snapper. I also had 2 great fights on the line but whatever they were, they bit through the line. Captain thought they would of been pretty massive.
Please do research when finding a Captain. Captain Chuck was upfront and honest from the beginning of my charter search. Out of all the Captains I contacted, he was the only one that didn’t try to sell me a longer charter.
We highly recommend Captain Chuck and Above the Salt charters. We will be back to use Captain Chuck again!

The Cipolla family

Captain Chuck and John went above and beyond anything I have experienced on a charter before. They pulled out all the stops to ensure we got a bite. No wasting time stopping to buy bait or catch bait; it’s straight to the fishing spots. They were very attentive at keeping fresh bait on the lines and removing fish and helping with reeling in when needed. Captain Chuck also carefully filleted each fish by hand with a fillet knife, not rushing through with an electric knife which leaves meat on the bone and bones in the meat. He also removed the blood line from each fillet. Truly above the salt. We will definitely look him up next time we’re in town.
