My wife and I did a half day morning trip with Captain Charlie and his literal first mate Jonna (sorry if that’s not spelled right).  My wife is a novice and it’s been many years for me.  The service was A+, they were very patient and coached us well.  We tried out several spots and it was never dull. We had a great time and fulfilled our goal of bringing home something for the grill.  We will definitely repeat the next time we are in town.

A fishing charter on the Gulf was one of the many things on my bucket list. And now thanks to Captain Charlie it’s no longer a bucket list goal. It’s a must upon every future visit to Orange Beach! Caption Charlie’s charter far exceeded expectations! If your looking for a laid back relaxing fishing charter that’s a total blast I highly recommend Captain Charlie of Southern Sun Inshore Charters! He is very knowledgeable, experienced and knows the hot spots where the fish are biting! I had hoped to catch at least one fish and honestly ended up loosing count! And best part was all I had to do was drop my line and reel my fish in, he took care of all the rest from providing live bait, baiting my hook, taking the fish off the hook and cleaned my fish when done! Conversation was awesome the entire trip and it was overall an outstanding experience! Can’t wait to visit Orange Beach again and another fishing tour with Captain Charlie will be a must every time! Do yourself a favor and stop scrolling through fishing charters and choose Captain Charlie, you won’t be disappointed!

Had a great time on our fishing trip today!

Even with it being late October, and late in the season, captain Charlie kept us on the fish and got a solid 3 hours of good bites and catches. A variety of fish were caught, a couple over 20 lbs, and we even got to feel the excitement of tracking down red fish!

All in all we are very glad we chose captain Charlie’s charter for our first charter experience. He’s very patient, has a chill attitude, very courteous, and great company to talk to while casting. Highly recommend him for anyone looking to stay on the fish and have a great time doing so. Thank you captain Charlie from Tony and Tracy!

We did a 4 hour trip with 3 adults and 2 kids(ages 5&7). Captain Charlie was awesome with the kids. He made them a priority and made sure they had fun and caught fish. We ended up catching 30+ fish. He loves his job and is very knowledgeable about the area, which made for a fun and successful fishing trip. We saw dolphins too, which was a great bonus for the kids. He cleaned and bagged about 20 fish (white and speckled trout) for us to take home for dinner. I can’t think of anything that he could have done better. And I don’t know how anyone could ever have a bad experience with captain Charlie! We will definitely be fishing with him again!

Captain Charlie was amazing! My wife and I went on our first fishing trip while at the beach and we had a blast. We caught several speckled trout but they didn’t meet the size requiem to keep. Then Captain Charlie took us to another spot where caught 10 white trout keepers and a few we couldn’t keep. The highlight of the trip was when we were reeling in a white trout and a Jack Cravelle took the white trout and we spent 15-20 minutes reeling him in. Captain Charlie said he was about 25-30 pounds. That one fish made the whole trip for us. We really appreciate Captain Charlie’s knowledge of the bay and the fish. We will definitely be going back out with him the next time we come back.
