Having fished in the Gulf of Mexico and off of Key West in my younger days I had not been fishing in a long time and my sons and wife had never been on a charter before. Josh and Jake were a great team. Jake especially kept my sons engaged and active with reeling in our catch. Ribbon fish after ribbon fish, I think we landed about 14 of them. Great first fish for the kids to hook into and experience what fighting a fish is like. If we head down to the Outer Banks again I would book with Fishing Taxi in a heartbeat. We had a great time and made some great memories as a family.

On June 25th we took a half day fishing trip with Captain Solomon.  Unfortunately the fishing taxi was experiencing some engine issues that prevented it from going as fast as the captain would like.  The captain reassured us that the boat was safe and that we could still go and offered us some extra time since it would take longer to get out of Oregon Inlet and to the fishing area.  The trip out was great and the first mate, Sam, was very nice and very helpful with managing the equipment.  We caught some ribbon fish, which looked quite nasty with teeth!.  Although we did not catch a ton we had a very good time and the captain and Sam were very accomodating and made us feel very comfortable!

Fishing started out slow not just for us but other boats in the area.  Complements to the captain.  He picked up and we went to another location. He found the fish and spent a lot of extra fuel.  He could have just said that is fishing and stayed in one location.

We had a Great Day fishing!. Captain Josh and First Mate Ben did an excellent job getting us to the fish and helping with how to catch different species.  We had a Blast trolling and bottom fishing. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
