Morning (5am) launch time we headed out hoping to fill coolers with fish (as most people do when paying for a charter) well after the first fish came into the boat (upwards of a 30 lb salmon ) hopes were high,morale was through the roof, from there started having problems hooking the fish (kept getting off) ended charter with 3 fish (2 nice salmon 1 small steelhead ) with inexperienced fisherman on the boat and fish not working with us (went 3 for 15 plus )experience overall was pretty good ,captain worked well with the inexperienced and knew were the fish were, just couldn’t seem to get the fish to agree to our plan that’s fishing !!!

Great Fishing Trip! It was more like going fishing with a good friend. Captain Vaughan was very professional, we caught nine fish. He was also very helpful, did not mind all the questions and he was witty. All of my friends had a great time and are now looking forward to our next trip.

We booked with Captain Lenny based on research and reviews. He more than met our expectations. The weather was challenging both days. However, Captain Lenny put us on the fish when others were struggling. Nothing like having three fish on2 of which were trophies. He gives his clients everything he has, and his knowledge of the lake and changing conditions is amazing. We were comfortable and had a memorable trip!  We will book again!

Had a terrific trip. Capt. Lenny assured me that my Grandson from Tennessee would get into some big fish and he was right. Had action from the very start till the end of trip. Largest was approx. 21 lbs. with at least 5 others topping 15 lbs. Capt. Lenny treated us with respect and was extremely helpful to my grandson and one other member of our party who had never been big water fishing.  If you want a knowledgeable, polite, and patient Captain who knows where the fish are….you need to book with Slipknot Charters and Capt. Lenny.  We ended up 13 catches out of 19 hookups. Great trip.

Went out for an evening charter with Captain Lenny and we cannot express how much of a good time we had. Five of us went out and got to catch huge beautiful salmon and a lake trout. We each got on the fish thanks to Captain Lenny. He is the best charter captain we have ever had. He is super friendly, crazy knowledgeable, easy going, very patient and made sure we had smiles, photos of each of us with our catches and a safe trip with a ton of salmon fillets. Slipknot charters is the top charter in Manistee. Thank you Captain Lenny for creating such a memorable experience, see you in the fall/ winter for some river fishing!
