We had a great time on the water this past weekend. Captain Robbie worked real hard to insure we were able to catch fish. When other boats weren’t doing much we were because of Captain Robbie’s determination and experience. The first mate (Caleb) was friendly, helpful and at the age of 18 very experienced and knowledgeable on the water. Things were slow that day but we came home with enough fish for all of us. Thanks Captain Robbie and Firstmate Caleb.
Trip I booked said offshore trolling the beach, we ended up fishing in the bay. We wasted an hour watching the captain bait fish by himself and then he fished for Red Drum by himself for an hour. We got to troll around the bridge for an hr were we finally got to touch a fishing rod for the first time. Would not recommend booking this trip.
Well jack offshore trolling would be trolling off the shore line which we did when we went 4miles off the shore. And yes I was fishing for bait to catch giant drum since that’s what we have been catching out there might want to look at the review before you no complaints there. Also should book a longer trip if you’d like to see the ocean.
Had a great time with Captain Robbie and Mate Caleb. We caught blue fish and mackerels and they cleaned them for us to take home. Did both trolling and casting. Very friendly crew.
Captain Rob has a clean boat that makes for a good full day and he has a keen eye to find them fish. We didn’t know what to expect but it was way better than we thought it would be! My daughters were smiling ear to ear and I was too. 3rd week in June worked out great for the fish. Thanks CAPTAIN RON and Reel Release fishing!
Day started off quite slow but certainly didn’t end that way. CAPT Robbie and his mate briefly mentioned that mornings had been slow following Hurricane Dorian coming through a week or so ago and that turned out to be the case. With that being said, Robbie beat the bushes of his network until we got on some big cobia and pretty much covered every inch of the ocean just off shore of Virginia Beach and Sandbridge to put us on the meat. One of the things that impressed me most was his working with the other boat captains in the area who were having an equally tough day to make sure every angler on the water had a chance to get on the bite. Furthermore, I was happy to see that even though we had our limits we kept fishing and when we did boat another big cobia they took every precaution to make sure the fish was returned to the water in a safe manner to make sure the stocks remained healthy. If you are looking for a boat and a crew who will keep working to get you on the fish look no further.
