This morning was absolutely awesome, thanks to the experience, friendliness and hard work of Kenny and Joey. Even though fishing had been slow the past couple of days, they did what it took to get us onto the fish. We caught several Bonita, a nice-sized Kingfish and a huge Amberjack. Their stories of the surrounding area added to the experience, and we highly recommend “Marlin My Darlin” as the best choice for your deep sea fishing adventure!

Great boat & crew! You fish within 3 miles of shore & see land the whole time. If these are the most important things when choosing your trip then this is the one for you. If you are avid fisherman and are used to high action & large fish then you need to reconsider. This is nothing to do w the crew but the area from what they explained. A normal good day to them in FTL is catching 3-5 fish. We are used to fishing Jupiter, the Keys & north FL so it was very slow to us. But still had a good day. Very personable & enjoyable Capt & mate.

Decided on a last minute trip from Cincinnati to Lauderdale for the sole purpose of catching a game fish. 1st stop catching some live bait, it was a lot of fun to watch my friends 8 yr old helping out and reeling them in. 2nd stop go to a wreck and watch my son reel in the fish we came for “Shark”, Mission accomplished. Then it was on to catch additional fish for dinner. Joey and Kenny made it all the more enjoyable with low key relaxed atmosphere that made us feel at home. Definitely recommending to family and friends that come down. Not to mention I will be booking again with Marlin my Darlin on my next trip down. Thanks guys for a great time!

The crew of the Marlin Me Darlin couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. Got a call the morning of our trip warning us that the water was choppy and offered to book us the next day. We didn’t have wiggle room in our schedule, so we went at our scheduled time. They got us the bigger boat to try to counter the waves. Crew JJ was prompt at maintaining the lines. The fishing was poor, but captain Matt radioed the other ships to try to find where the fish were biting. A large cooler with ice was provided, and the fridge and freezer were available. Even though we didn’t catch any fish, it wasn’t for the crew trying. We’ll be back to try our luck and will book with Marlin Me Darlung again!

We had a great time out on the water with Captain Rick and first mate, Ken. They were very professional and had great personalities. They understood that not everyone is a professional and that we had people at different levels of experience.  We purchased live bait from the marina and it was well worth it. Out of the six fish we acquired as live bait, all but one was used on the entire half day trip. One was eaten by a sailfish, but sadly the line snapped due to the fish being sporadic. The second was bit in half within seconds of being released, by a king mackerel (allegedly), the third was eaten by another king mackerel within seconds of being released and this time we landed it! The fourth fish was eaten by the largest fish of the day, a sailfish that was brought to the side of the boat but do to the safety of the fish, was not brought on board and was released. The fifth fish was eaten by a very sneaky shark when tracking down loose cargo. I highly recommend attending this charter, the knowledge of both fishing and their wildlife consciousness was very respectable.
