The Captain and mate were late getting us off the dock. The boat is a big old Bertram ( I’m guessing 1985) with no depth recorder and the electronics are all crap. They were having issues with the Bilge Pump so had to keep checking to make sure we weren’t sinking. We went out for sail fish but found that we really were in an off month as the sail fish don’t really arrive until later in the fall months. Side note… would have liked to have known that info up front. We caught one barely legal mahi, one king that was attacked by sharks. The sharks are every where out there. In fact, I knew the trip was over when we started fishing for Jaws, which we did hook into about a 13’ Bull Shark. That ended up being the grand finale. Don’t get me wrong the best thing about this trip was the Captain. He was very kind and apologetic, but I wouldn’t spend any money going on that boat again.

Will, we apologize for a less than stellar experience. We have a beautiful 50 foot Tom Fexis, Sport fish with a gorgeous interior, AC two heads, galley and a large fishing cockpit. This boat is designed for deep-sea fishing and is a very well-built sturdy vessel. There are many safeties that are built into a boat that are automatic. We had a bilge pump that had a broken wire so we wanted to make sure that there were no issues until we were able to fix it. Safety is our number one concern so our goal was to make sure that safety was a top priority. This is what caused the delay getting started on time. If there was a question of being unsafe, we would’ve never taken you on the trip. I don’t know what your complaint was about our electronics but all the necessary electronics for finding fish and death are operational. Fishing for sailfish was your request and since you chartered the boat we follow the customers request. We catch selfish all times of the year but during certain months they are not as prevalent and easy to catch. Unfortunately we can’t control mother nature and sometimes she is relentless and does not accommodate our charter customers having a good time. We cannot control sharks obviously so our goal is to try to make it as fun as possible by hooking them for a fight. As we always do, we offer a 50% discount on your next fishing trip because we want every one of our customers to have the opportunity to have the experience that they are anticipating.
