First of all, Tommy, the El Capitan, knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to fishing! Hands down, the best time I ever had on a charter boat in my 20+ years of fishing life! Tommy and his son, Mason who mates with him, has been in fishing all their lives (13th generation in fishing, so enough said!!!)
When I booked the fishing trip about 2 months before, Tommy called to confirm the trip and answered all my questions. When our party (my dad, uncle, cousins and friends) arrived, we were immediately greeted by Mason. He offered to help with the ice boxes and was just a genuine nice young man!
The boat ride to the fishing destination is about 1 hr and 15 minutes. When arrived, Tommy knew exactly where to fish! He maneuvered the boat around and we caught about 20 rock fish within 45 minutes! Mason immediately assisted with nets and baits. There were about 40+ boats around us but it looked like we were the only ones who were continuously reeling in the rocks! We let go 8 fish due to the size limitation and left to other locations to relax, drink, and have fun and ended up catching about 50 white perch and spots. One super awesome thing about this boat is, Tommy uses the LIVE bait when catching the rocks!!!
We’ll definitely back and won’t go to any other boat than Tommy Hallocks!
