Very organized trip with a good guide. I would not recommend going fishing Costa Rica during March as the Fishing was extremely slow and it was extremely hot. We only got one hit the entire day.
Hi Darren, thank you for your review. The fishing has been slow this past week. March is normally a very windy month in this area of Costa Rica which does cool the water temperature down. This last week the winds have dropped which has made it very hot and possibly affected the fishing. However Costa Rica is hot all year round and we have some great fishing here so we can’t say that any specific month is not a good time or fishing. Had a great time fishing with Captian Gerald on Feb 19, 2024. Almost landed the CR grand slam. Ended with 1 nice sailfish, 1 nice bull mahi and had a wahoo break us off. The wind was high resulting in rough seas but Gerald was adept at navigating the conditions.

Our Captain, Gerard was a great leader who knew everything about fishing in the area and was very friendly. Even though the fish weren’t biting we still managed to catch a great Mahi Mahi, which made my 12 year old sons day. Louise who was the organizer was very responsive and pleasant. We had a great time.

Capt Gerald was excellent. We caught and released several big fish inshore including a big cubera and a rooster! Awesome!
