Enjoyed a great time over 2 half days fishing the Cairns Estuary with Skipper John Hangodi.
Caught a range of fish including a nice Mangrove Jack that John advised to take to the local Salthouse Restaurant to have cooked. John gutted and scaled fish in preparation and they cooked it 3 ways which was delicious. John had some great tales to tell and has 17 years experience in Cairns waters so he knows all the spots to try. He definitely went the extra mile to ensure we had the best chance to catch fish - and moved frequently if nothing was happening at a given spot. Really enjoyed the trips and will be back next time I visit Cairns

We had our second trip out with John today. He’s a great host who knows the good fishing spots. He’s patient and teaches good technique.
John also celebrates and teases my husband when yet again I caught the biggest and best fish!  Four different types of fish caught with my 65cm 4.5kg barramundi catch of the day!

We had a great trip with John and the team, consisting of Travis, Megan, Chen, Ping, Toby , Neil and myself. After much rain we struggled to find live bait, not through a lack of trying by John. He worked his magic during the morning to produce 1 x GT, 1 x Ray, 1 Groper, and 1 Fingermark ! All of this occurred under tough conditions with recent rains and a distinctly lack of fishing smarts from us ! Would definitely recommend him to have a great morning on the river.
