Didn’t catch any fish, but it was a fun trip. Loved the crew!

While waiting to board our cruise ship, my wife booked us a half day drift fishing trip on Captain Moudy’s FLAMINGO FISHING vessel. The craft was clean; Garret, the mate was friendly, knowledgeable, witty and very accommodating; and the captain put us on fish. We had a first grader and his dad next to us and I was impressed how the mate kept him interested, occupied and TANGLE FREE!!! Garret even took time to to give descriptions of each fish we boarded which included amber jacks, grunts, porgies, triggerfish, banded perch, blue runners, dogfish. All this at a bargain price. We can’t wait to take our grandkids to catch red snappers, kingfish and grouper in addition to the panfish we encountered. Thanks for a great time.

The trip was great!  The mates were very helpful. Cameron was extremely helpful, he was the mate mainly working on the front of the boat where we were. The captain moved to boat three times so that we were in an area where there were fish. He came across extremely sarcastic and arrogant, I’m sure that is just his personality. The woman working the office was very helpful and friendly. Jonny, the other mate patiently filleted our fish. They need a better system, as he was running out of time and had to get ready to board for the afternoon trip before he was finished filleting everyone’s fish for them to take home.  They could use two people cutting up fish so that it would run more efficiently. Overall we had a great experience and would do it again.

This was my first time fishing, it has been on of the most memorable days of my life. From the moment we got on the boat, Mike, the rods and reels man taught us what to do and loaded the bait. Being a total novice I thought we would be fishing for small fish, but as soon as I saw three big hooks and a small fish as bait I knew that we were going for the big ones. I caught a huge kingfish, so proud of myself!!! It was so heavy it made my arms ache holding it for the photos. All the crew were fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful when your line got tangled, as mine did a couple of times. I can’t recommend this fishing trip enough, it should be a six not five star rating.
