We had a great time with Captain Mike. Really nice boat and very polite and courteous Captain. We caught speckled trout and red fish and sand trout and gafftop and croakers and what would a fishing trip be to Galveston without catching a few hard heads. He worked hard to put us on fish taking us to many different spots in an attempt to keep us on fish. My wife and I highly recommend him.

Morning Fishing Trip

This was our first time Bay fishing. We arrived about 20 minutes early to find Cpt. Mike already on the water spotting the fish. Meet and greet on the pier. Loaded on the boat. A few tips on best practices. Went out and started fishing and limited out on speckled trout at the first spot in about 2 hours. That’s not counting the ones that got away. Moved to a few more spots and caught fish at every spot. Didn’t catch red fish but that’s how fishing goes sometimes. I plan on going back.

Captain Mike is the BEST! He hooked us up! He kept our hooks baited, he casted for us when asked and netted All of our catches. He put us on the fish, so we kept him busy! I am healing from surgery and was unable to reel in my fish without help. Every time I had a fish on he helped me hold onto the rod so I could reel it in! This is my second trip with Captain Mike and he has gone above and beyond both times! We will definitely be going again!

I own a large part of this review. I should have asked the captain if he used anything else other than croakers. I should have asked if he only fishes shallows or flats. I should have asked him to notify my daughters before he decided to urinate on the side of the boat. I’ll do a better job of communicating with the captain before confirming the trip.

I’m sorry you didn’t have a successful catching trip. Unfortunately from time to time that will happen. I enjoyed having you and your daughters on the boat and teaching them how to present the croaker. Apparently no matter where you were or how you were fishing. The fish were not eating. That was confirmed by 6 other guides. All seemed to struggle getting bites. Fish can definitely be finicky around the full moon. Today they displayed that. Good luck on your future fishing trips.
